Research Scientist/Postdoctoral Fellow
We are seeking an experienced research scientist with a strong background in preclinical neuroscience. The ideal candidate would have a background in the neurosciences and in spinal cord injury (SCI) specifically including: rodent models of SCI (contusion, hemisection, compression, etc), histologic analysis, behavioral analysis, microscopy, cell biology and the understanding of critical cellular signaling pathways. This position requires a dedicated and independent self-starter comfortable not only with these necessary methods and techniques, but also a capacity for instructing others (such as research assistants) in these methods as well as developing new methodologies as required. The startup environment requires a consummate team player who values working with a group focused on translational neuroscience and drug development.
- M.Sc. or Ph.D.
- At least two years experience
- Strong background in biological sciences, neuroscience and/or cell biology
- Meticulous, with good record-keeping skills
We seek a technician to oversee general laboratory operations and participate in variety of projects, depending on experience. The successful candidate will have experience in a wide variety of areas, including biochemical and immunocytochemical analysis, cell culture, and helping with small animal surgery and post-operative care for specialized studies in spinal cord injury. It is important that you are a team player and willing to learn new skills. You will work closely with our research scientists to carry out experiments in regenerative medicine. You will also help organize the administrative aspects of the laboratory.
